The Order of Food Technologists is a national regulatory body representing food technologists in Italy, with local chapters across different regions.

The Order is committed to protecting public health through the control and management of food safety, working in collaboration with institutions, companies, and other organizations to continuously improve quality standards in the agri-food sector.

It also provides training and support to professionals in the field, promoting initiatives from regional boards aimed at the technical and cultural development of its members.

A Food Technologist registered with the Order is officially recognized as a qualified professional, authorized to provide technical, legal, and managerial expertise in the agri-food industry.

Food Companies & Food Safety: A Core Priority

Food safety is a critical issue for all businesses operating in the food sector (restaurants, kitchens, bars, production lines, etc.). Ensuring food safety means protecting consumer health, preventing contamination, and complying with relevant regulations.

Effective food safety management includes implementing self-monitoring plans like the HACCP system, staff training, adherence to strict hygiene practices, and voluntary certification under GFSI standards (BRCGS, IFS, and FSSC22000).

These GFSI certifications (Global Food Safety Initiative) are internationally recognized standards designed to ensure and enhance the safety of food products throughout the entire supply chain.

Food safety not only protects public health but also strengthens the reputation of food businesses. A lack of proper prevention and control can lead to pest infestations in food facilities, increasing the risk of biological contamination and product recalls.
