The palace is located in the heart of the historic center of Todi, in Piazza del Popolo. Between 1334 and 1347, the Municipality built the Palazzo dei Priori, in Gothic style with a square tower. The palace was later renovated in the 16th century, which gave it the simple facade that forms the backdrop to the square.
At the beginning of 2016, Bird Free was installed to protect the elevator of Palazzo Priori from a pigeon invasion.
Bird Free® is a patented, ready-to-use formula containing natural, food-grade oils to repel all birds from any structure without harming them. It is designed to withstand all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, wind, rain, and snow.
Here, we present some before-and-after photos of the intervention. At the time, the focus was on the areas where the highest concentration of pigeons had settled.
Given the effectiveness of the initial application, the Municipality of Todi decided to expand the work and protect other areas that, being left unprotected by Bird Free, had been infested by pigeons looking for new perches. Therefore, in September of this year, a new installation was carried out.
For the second installation, a very interesting solution was suggested in case the pigeons continued to perch on the floor: applying two rows of discs 20 cm apart, fixing them on a synthetic grass mat to be removed once the pigeons have permanently moved away from the entire building.
