Decision not to renew Etofenprox as a biocidal active substance

On 20 February 2026, Implementing Decision (EU) 2026/378 was published in the Official Journal of the European Union, establishing the non-renewal of Etofenprox as an active substance intended for use in biocidal products of product-types 8 and 18, as provided for in Regulation (EU) No 528/2012.

Effective date of the decision

This decision will take effect from March 15th 2026. Therefore, from that date, all previously authorised PMC products and Biocidal Products containing Etofenprox, either as an active substance taken individually or in mixture with other biocidal active substances, will no longer be authorised.

Period of stock-outs

The products concerned, which are no longer authorised, enjoy the period of exhaustion of stocks.

• Sale allowed until September 11st 2026
  (stock exhaustion on the market)
• Use permitted until March 15th 2027
  (maximum limit for use by end-users)
