Natural repellents

Bird Free® is a revolutionary optical gel for keeping nuisance birds away: the gel looks like fire to them. Visual deterrence is complemented by olfactory deterrence due to the presence of natural oils, and tactile deterrence due to its viscous consistency.

Bird control and deterrence methods

These species, thanks to the phenomenon of urbani zation that develops in parallel with the expansion of cities, can benefit from a whole series of advantageous conditions compared to the natural environment (presence of shelters, milder temperatures, absence of predators and food abundance).

Pigeon population containment is carried out through the application of several possible methods that can act directly on colony numbers, or through modification, in a negative sense, of the colonized environment (mechanical or electrical deterrents, anti-intrusion nets, optical gels).

The city pigeon and current regulations

The city pigeon is assimilated by legislation to wild animals and thus enjoys the legal protection provided by law no.157/92 “Standards for the protection of homeothermic wildlife and hunting harvesting,” which, however, does not exclude the possibility of species containment interventions for reasons of health, historic-artistic or livestock protection.

Ecological interventions involving the use of natural, optical, or physical deterrents or the installation of anti-intrusion nets are allowed if the birds are present in a location that is unsuitable for human health and safety.
